12 hour buyer......HELP

DEcosse, I just came accross this great group buy, but I may be to late....not sure???

I have a 2011 Sprint GT that I would like to buy a stand and wheels kit for. You say it fits the Sprint, will that include the GT?

If everything is ok, how can I commit to the order at this late date to be sure and take advantage of the price reduction?

Made quick video after work showing the engagement on my 2010 S3. The pin is the thing I struggle with most but overall it gets easier every time I do it. As you can see the it is pretty easy. If yours isn't like this, you should keep looking for the correct solution for your bike. Mine is nothing like they recommended.

Very nice indeed. My lovely wife drove a '61 Fleetwood when we met. What a car that was. It was her first car (she was 19 when we hooked up), and she'd paid $500 for it. Still had the plastic on the seats. We put more than 300k miles on the beauty. :D

and now, back to your originally scheduled program .... :cool:

Thought I would add my experience with the stand. Kudos to Jeremy for looking as comfortable and confident as the guy in the sales video when engaging the bike and stand. I make it look like the bike could topple at any moment!

It is my advice to ignore the measurements posted by Jeremy and in the instructions. Neither of them worked for me (front wheel touching, even when going from hole 7 to 8). It must have something to do with my suspension setup.

I recommend that you start with the hole in the instructions (hole 7 for me), tighten the big allen bolt (but don't torque it) and leave everything else slightly loose so you can move the plate with a some effort. Present the stand to the bike, line up the pins, insert the safety pin and raise the bike. For me, the front tire was slightly touching so I looked at the adjuster and figured I needed to increase "the measurement". I lowered the bike, but left everything connected and increased the measurement by a bit (maybe 1/8 in), then raised it up again. The rear wheel is higher than the front, but clearance in front is fine. For my bike, any attempts to get the front wheel higher (easy to do with adjustments) makes it more difficult to engage the stand.

I MUCH prefer an effortless engagement so I don't drop my bike one of these days. I don't think I will ever look as smooth as Jeremy! Once the bike is up it is awesome. Piece of cake to move around. It even fits under the loft I built in the garage 13 years ago...bonus!

P.S. my stand also arrived without a nut for the frame bolt, but Greg promptly sent me a new nyloc nut.

Currently they only list the Speed Triple, Street Triple, Daytona (955 & 675), and Sprint for the Triumphs.

The instructions sheet that came with my paddock stand suggests that I install the bushing where bolt #1 is shown above; however, that seems to be the support for the passenger pillion rather than the rear engine bolt (number 2).

I'm able to remove bolt #1, but #2 is incredibly tight. Other issues are sockets that don't fit inside the bushing, and generally big hands trying to work in small places.

Am I correct in thinking the hardware provided with the stand should go in #2 and not #1?

No - You do not remove 2
(The Sprint kit utilizes that engine mount, because it does not have that #1 Frame/Subframe location)
The upper mount (bushing adapter) goes in location #1 - you will need to replace the OEM bolt with the one supplied in the kit

- the lower pin inserts into the Swing-arm spindle, which is roughly directly below the #1 location
There is nothing to connect here - the lower pin slips directly into the spindle

Looking at your pic, because of the direct connection gear-lever on your model, you might have to use a different hole in the main stand fixing plate so the vertical part of the stand does not interfere with the pedal.

Right! Like a kid at Christmas, I tore open the box and started taking stuff out, trying to figure out how everything lined up. In the process, I overlooked the bolt they provide to substitute for the subframe bolt. Unfortunately, it still doesn't have the nut and washer as mentioned previously in this thread, so headed out to get that now. It also seems I must invest in a 9mm hex drive as the ones I have (8mm, 10mm) don't fit. However, everything else seems pretty straigh forward from here. Setting up the GSXR should only take a fraction of the time...heh heh

The general stand parts are SAE, not Metric so you need inch-size tools for those (hex keys and sockets/wrenches)
The supplied M10 frame bolt should be 8mm Hex
The OEM is T55 Torx.

If you can get an M10 x 1.5 (coarse) nyloc nut, that will be preferable vs nut & washer

Success! Finally, that is. Quite the ordeal trying to get the bike balanced front to rear so both tires are off the ground. I still have to finagle the stand into place since I had to angle the adapter plate in order to get both tires up. No simple roll into place and throw the lever. I might try to adjust it more tomorrow, but have run out of patience for that today. And the hex I had to buy was a 3/8 inch for the stand...all the other hexes I've got are metric. :p

I ended up with a nyloc M10x1.50 nut afterall, despite not seeing the recommendation until after the fact.

All said and done, I'm happy with the stand

I still have to finagle the stand into place since I had to angle the adapter plate in order to get both tires up. No simple roll into place and throw the lever.
Don't waste too much time trying to correct that. If the bike's level when raised then you have the correct settings. The assembly instructions make it quite clear that both pins may not line up and you have to insert one pin then raise the handle to get the stand to "pivot".

At first I didn't understand what could "pivot" because the only movement of the stand is vertical. I wasted a lot of time getting both lifting pins to line up and then wondering why my bike wasn't level when raised. Finally I figured out that raising the handle takes the weight off the stand causing it to tip so both pins align. Simply rolling the stand into place, inserting the pins and lifting is impossible to achieve with my Sprint if I want it anywhere near level. I contacted Greg and he confirmed that is indeed the case. If I'd realized that I could've had this thing set up in 5 minutes. Yes, it's stated quite clearly in the assembly instructions but I was trying to achieve what I saw in the video on Motomfg website. Maybe that applies to some bikes but definitely not my Sprint. :(

I received my stand on Thursday, and just got finished putting it together. The whole process took about an hour, 15 minutes of which was spent at the neighbor's to get a 3/8" hex wrench (all the bolts are SAE). For anyone still on the fence, this is a quality stand and will really make working on the bike easier. Being able to wheel the bike around alone is worth it, so be sure to add on the caster set.
