There's a post with this title over in Twins and thought it'd be nice to see one here.
Over the weekend I installed my new Leo Vince pipe & remapped the engine to the Arrow map, bike is noticeably faster and slightly louder. I installed the SW-Motech skid plate, beware the hardware I had to do a tap & dye on it - smooth as silk after that. Lastly I install a USB power port. Bike is getting close to done
Today I got my bike back from it's initial service from the dealership. They installed heated grips and my cntr stand. Tonight I installed the engine guard plumbing and topbox cassette and topbox. Sure is nice to have that finally on.
I gotta ask, is the topbox really hard to lock on as the pull handle refuses to lock in the downward position. Am I doing something wrong? I don't wanna force it and break/bend some internal linkage...
Installed a 24 amp Shorai Battery from the K1600. The 1600 got a 36amp Shorai.
I have Pivot Pegs on order and a side stand foot as well as a set of upper engine and radiator guards.
Just got a Tiger 800 a week ago. I spent today installing a Hepco and Becker center stand, Admore Light Bar, power cords and handlebar mounts for a Valentine One and Zumo 550, and a J&M CB.
Still need a Russell Day Long saddle, XC handlebar risers and either a Palmer or Madstad windshield and some sort of hard luggage.
Got my Adventure light kit installed, that miraculously showed up in 4 days despite the fact that my dealer has been telling me they have been backordered for the last two months. Oh well, you snooze, you lose. Couldn't handle the brushed aluminum guards that matched NOTHING on the bike, so painted them satin black. Yum.
Also installed SW Motech headlight protectors from Twisted Throttle.
I guess I could say Ginger got glasses and reading lights?
Yeah, I know, none of you have ever seen an orange Tiger with OEM lights.
Unfortunately, no. They would only take PayPal. Back when they turned into the identity mafia, the "ease of use" kinda went away. It was a great price, too!
Oh that's too bad. I use PayPal all the time. I had problems with them back in the day but now I use every safety precaution available. No problems since.
Today I had the dealer do a remap with the latest fuel map (not sure which one) and readapt the sensors. I have been intermittently having an off-idle or low throttle hesitation issue for the last 1000 miles or so. I'm at about 4700 miles, and the last check by the dealer was at the first service at about 600 miles back in May. They supposedly checked for the latest downloads back then, but they said today that the one I had before my update today was an obsolete map.
Initial impression is very positive, I noticed a much more responsive throttle from the first moment on the ride back home. I can even tell a difference while at highway speeds. I guess I've been living with the issue and didn't know that it was affecting the performance throughout the operating range.
I'll find out tomorrow how it does from a cold start.

Maybe totally unrelated, but at almost 2k mine seemed to have a little lag too, as well as the "jerky" throttle many have complained about.
I finally got around to readjusting the slop caused by the super stretchy Tiger throttle cables while putting on the adventure lights. I went to just a couple mm's of freeplay.
I have what I hope isn't a dumb question If you have a moto with an 18" rear & a 21" front, and you replace the front with an 18"'er, do you get an inch or two lowered seat position?
You'd have to know the actual tire heights to be exact. But, roughly you'd get a max of 1.5" drop at the front axle. The further you measure toward the rear, the less your drop will be. I'm sure there is a trigonometry formula for it if you have the wheelbase, distance to seating position from front axle.
Just an example; If your seating position was dead in the center of the wheelbase you'd get .75" drop at the seat. The further back from center that the seating position is the more that .75" number decreases.
Had a 2011 800 roady and traded it in for the Explorer last year. Sometime wish I had kept the 800 except when on the freeway, but of course the Explorer engine is fantastic, even though you can't use all the power it has on the street.
