hello, new poster!
ive only passed my test about 3 weeks, the following weekend, went out to 'look' at a bike, ended up buying it there and then, man shopping but maybe i was too hasty.
its a 2004 daytona 600, it rode fine for the first weekend, then a week later i went to fire it up and it was dead, i tried a few times but the more i did, the less reaction i got each time. i trickle charged it and thought that was the last of it, until i went to buy a new battery and ended up being recovered by a truck.
a friend who knows more about it than me has been having a look, he has concluded that the battery isnt being charged by the engine, its slowly draining, even with the headlights disconnected.
its annoying because i live and work 300miles away during the week so i can only fiddle with it at weekends, ive pretty much missed the last 2 weekends suitable weather this year for riding but thats besides the point, since replacing the battery it hasnt yet failed to start, but this is only a matter of time as the battery is still draining whilst its running. any help?
