Just got back from the Movie Theater.
Saw the new James Bond Movie - Skyfall.
It was Great - The audience was cheering, laughing, clapping and totally into the whole Bond Movie experience.
I can't believe we have been watching Bond Movies for 50 Years now.
Interesting thing about Daniel Craig... He is styled after Steve McQueen. This is not just my weird opinion.. There are lots of things scattered between his films that directly link him to McQueen. Mostly clothing items, sunglasses, etc that are shared and it has been done intentionally. In planning his image, they wanted the effortless cool that McQueen had. Most interesting to us though was his comment in the girl with the dragon tattoo that he had a motorcycle before; a triumph. It was very noticeable because it was an oddly forced statement. I'm just waiting for the James Bondeville special edition
Hey Pop,
Yes, i guess I am an Old Fart.
I remember when Commando's and H1's were the 'SuperBikes' - I owned both
I remember when Barry Sheene and James Hunt ruled the world.
But I still get a kick out of my Bonny ,Tom Sykes, Jonathan Rea, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.
I just love Bikes, Racing, and the UK.
This time it's annoying. Half (ro 2/3rds) of the commercials running during regular programme make direct references to the movie. Every second show on TV makes references to this movie. Even car magazines pull lists from out of the dark with "The coolest James Bond car" and wutnot.
You really can't escape it because even on the radio they dissect James Bond and make "funny" remarks or impersonations *yawn*
I can't remember any previous movie of this franchise causing such a hype.
That is a very interesting paradigm. Although I`m not sure if paradigm is the right word because I don`t know what paradigm actually means and when I looked it up, I didn`t understand the wikipedia explanation. But it sounds good.
So anyhoo, calling James Bond a franchise, is almost correct. Like a Starbucks cofee shop that has changed hands many times, but no matter who runs it, it keeps making money for the franchise and the customers keep turning up and buying the coffee because they trust the brand and trust it will always be good quality. Interesting.
I'd intentionally tried to stay clear of spoilers so the end did surprise me, made me a bit sad too.
There were a couple of bits I thought could have been better but on the whole a return to form especially after quantum of solace which did nothing for me.
So Craig is a rather unattractive, beady eyed, middle aged loser whom chics find hideous. Us blokes like him because when he pulls a bird as Bond, we are given hope that maybe that could be us if we get a swish suit and a Walther PPK.
Ya it's good, but I still liked Casino Royale better . I think CR had a little more action and a bit more intense. Besides Daniel Craig was younger then too!
Don't worry, they used a stunt double for that one . The DBS from casino royale was the same.. Leftover half finished prototypes and mules...I think something like 9 to 12 of those (and a couple of scrappy old bmw 5 series) gave their lives for that tumbling scene.
By boning a chook HAP, you get chicken fillets. Now here's the strange habit: Manufacturers replicate the fillets with silicone, and alike, and sell them to women who then fool us with them.
If I got caught with a pair of sox in my undies, I'd be laughed outta town.
