Helmet lock suggestions and placement

I've done a search, not extensive but I'm looking for suggestions on a helmet lock for my Bonnie and where folks have mounted them. I saw the Sato (?) helmet lock that mounts on the left side shock mount on NB website. That looks promising. I'd like the lock to pull double duty, secure my helmet when parking the bike when i'm out and about and to secure a second passenger helmet when in transit (with bungie net or something similar in addition). Look forward to everybody's input. Thanks.

I don't use a dedicated helmet lock, I have a retractable cable lock sold for travel, a Master Lock Trimax. About 3 feet long, setable three-digit combo, I run the cable through the visor on my full face and through a convenient bar or the top handlebar clamp (I have a dogbone). It also lets me remove my armored overpants and jacket and lock them up too.

My friends and I each bought one of those at the Cycle World Int'l Show in Cleveland earlier this year. The seller included a coiled lanyard, but I carry one I made that's longer & heavier in my back pack. All of the ones we bought have a rubberized coating, but I've noticed ads lately making that an option. One of the best features, which is probably common for locks like this, you can change the combination to anything 3-digit you want.

I set my helmet on the seat, which isn't as stable as I'd like, and run the lanyard through my chin bar and then to the passenger peg outrigger. I hope to come up w/ some way of securing my helmet to the seat as it can fall too easily w/ such a crowned seat.

FREE almost

I use a gun lock also. Works great and fits in pocket.
If you want a FREE one Send me a PM to arrange
mailing me a prepaid shipping envelope to your location and
then I'll ship you one or two locks much like the one in the photo
for FREE...YOU just pay shipping. Should be less than $10.00 to ship.
I made this same offer a year ago. Still have some left.
The prepaid envelope you send should be for
seven ounces for one lock or 2 locks is less than one pound.

I bought a lock similar to the Helmetlok off of fleabay for a few bucks. I should have gotten one with a cable. While locking to the chin strap will prevent the guy who just wants to walk off with your helmet a cable will prevent the kid with a pocket knife from just cutting the strap.

Cables are fairly easy to make. I go to Lowes or good hardware stores and buy vinyl coated steel cable 2 to 3' long and crimp ends. I use a bench vise to smash the ends and sometimes lodge a nail between the jaws and clamp for extra crushing. Cheap - just a few bucks. I coil them up around my hand and slide them into pieces of MC inner tube for storage in my back pack or tank bag.

Decent helmet lock solution for T100

I was looking around on here to see what solutions other riders went with and decided that I wanted something that was integrated like the Sato lock, but not as pricey. I found this Bikers Choice Helmet Lock - Black 74937BSE on Amazon. It’s similar to what I found at Cycle Gear for 7/8” tubes, but the problem with my T100 is there are no 7/8” tubes. This one is designed to clamp to tubes up to 1-1/4”. It fits perfectly on the tube that the seat sits on.
