So the foot brake nor the hand brake were activiating the brake lights. I found out the problem for the foot which was the plunger/switch. THe hand brake on the other hand is a different story. I can't sem to find the problem. the brake works fine its just the light. Is their a plunger/ switch somewhere I can't see? A friend told me their might be a button or switch located somewhere but hes not sure since he owns a buell. Can anyone help? or have a way to download a wiring diagram? thanks
There are 2 wires that connect near the brake lever, those are for the switch there. Find 'em. See if perhaps one or both are disconnected. If not, follow them and find where the break in the circuit is.
okay i will look for the wires your talking about, do you also happen to know why my left blinkers blink alot faster then my right, about twice as fast. Is it a fuse or something else?
Means a break or short in the circuit. Usually happens when a bulb has blown. Are they all flashing? Check fuses.
I would check that the two live wires to your brake lever are connected as GN says. They are hard to spot, two tiny black wires on spade connections to the underside of the throttle housing. Failing that, check the two (blue?)live connections to the horn above your front mudguard. They take a lot of abuse being so exposed to the weather, and your front brake light circuit takes its live from there. Have you had the front fairings off? If so check the barrel connections between the bike and the indicator mounts have been pushed home properly. If you have a multimeter, you could check that the switch at the lever is functioning correctly.

I don't know exactly where the barrel connections are or what they look like. I borrowed a mutimeter but don't know exactly where to test the switch at.
If you were to take the fairings off that your indicators mount on, you find that Triumph have included a small tubular shaped plug/socket to allow you easily disconnect the indicators from the bike and remove the fairing completely.
To check that your brake light switch is working, look under your throttle, you will see two shiny black plastic plastic coated terminals. These are the terminals from the brake lever switch.
