I recently fitted an Acewell gauge on my 05 thruxton and it was a breeze to wire up. Now i'm trying to do it again with another Acewell on a 2011 Bonneville but this time it's proving to be quite a challange. Mainly because the wiring is very diffrent and I cannot seem to locate the proper diagram for the stock gauge cluster. I'd rather not have to spend hours with test lights figuring it out. Wondering if you might have any idea where a decent diagram for this model can be had? Thnx a ton.

Not so easy - you have CANBUS gauges and there are no discreet speed & tach signals on that.

Otherwise
Purple - const power
Green/Red - Ign Power (careful - gree/red also turn signal)

White/Blue - hi beam
Green/Red - Lt Turn
Green/White - Rt Turn
Black/White - Neutral
Black/Yellow - Power Out to Speedo Sensor

Blacks are Ground

Red & Blue are the CANBUS signals

Spent a good part of the weekend playing with this. Got most of it wired up ok, signals, and other indicator lights no problem really. But I am having a few issues.

1st the Bonneville SE does not have a tach, I can wire directly up to the coil, but would assume there is a tach wire in the gauge cluster not being used that I can wire? or maybe not..

The other more serious problem is there seems to be a circuit in that stock speedo cluster that tells the ecu to fire or not to fire based on the test it runs when you first turn the key. Basically she will not fire at all with the Acewell hooked up. I have a feeling this may be related to the fuel pump or fuel level gauge which I have not been able to definitively identify. But have narrowed it down to the 5 wires in the picture. If I disconnected any of these, one at a time, she will not fire. Purple is power, black is ground, but what of the others, any idea what they are , and can any be by-passed or jumped to trigger the pump?

I can't guarantee that will work for you:
CANBUS requires a 120 ohm termination - in the first series of Speed Triple Keihin ECM's the resistor was all that was required; however in later models this does not work - presumably there is some active 'handshake' from the Instruments on those.
You can only try & see on yours as to whether it will work.

Note that features like the Fuel Level Sensor and MIL light are both carried on the CANBUS and not discrete signals, so you will lose those functions also

I finally found some time to get back to this project today. I'm determined to make it work, but so far no luck. I'm definitely no electrical expert so that could be my issue but I did try terminating as suggested, still didn't work. Tried a bunch of different resistors and combinations to no avail.

There may be no solution to this, but I find that hard to believe. Nonetheless I am stuck and at this point will happily pay someone for their infinite wisdom if they could help resolve this. Let me know if you're that guy or know someone I can get in touch with.

HI , Bad news, U are NOT ABLE to use that. New Triumphs use CAN bus, but not only the signal for shaking hands, it is data comming trough.
WHat i did i have stay with the old connection and hide it under the seat. Then u can do whatever u can. It will start.
Motogagets works for a year now on CAN BUS overpass item, but still we need to wait. Write to them, may be they have something for U already.

That's what I was afraid of! Bad news indeed! But what did you hide under the seat, the whole gauge connected? I don't understand what you mean? I'd be willing to do that, just not really sure what connections need to be made to where.

Appreciate the help!
