The misses and me are planning to make a trip accross the nullabor next spring . We will be leaving Perth and heading to SA , i think from capital to capital it is roughly 2,500km and we plan to do that in 5 days. Has anyone done a trip like that on there thunderbird yet and was the longhual seat good enough for it or do we need to do some other mods as well to keep our buts safe
Gday Dave was wondering where you got your bike from and when? Also did they say when you are likely to see it. I have only just got my bike off Chapmans , got all my acc except seat, screen, and panniers.

Got it off Chapmans
Spoke to Ross a couple of days ago 3 on order no ETA on the seats as of yet but he was going to call Trumpy Oz and give me some idea (if only these Americans stopped nicking all of our bits)
It seems that the parts supply to Australia is a major problem. I have, just a week ago received my Touring seat after picking up my TBird at the start of January. I am still waiting for my sissy bars and a couple of other bits.
The Touring seat seems to have been a great investment. I did a 660km trip last Sunday and the numb bum that appeared after an hour on the standard seat only showed up in the final 100 or so kms. Pretty good I think. I expect it to be even better when (if) I get my rider backrest installed. Based on the Sunday trip I would expect that a trip from Newcastle to Adelaide approx 1,700kms (which I plan to do at some stage) will be easily possible with just the one stop-over.
Cheers, Max
