iPhone - iPod USB Handlebar Mounted Charger

Ever find yourself in the middle of nowhere or in between stops and your iPhone, iPod, GPS or any other USB charged device is dead or near dying? Do you use a Bluetooth helmet headset or communication device that sucks the battery dry? NO MORE!! This nifty USB charger mounts to either 7/8" or 1" handlebars and has TWO USB ports to charge any gadget you have. The unit converts the 12V~24V battery to usable 5V, 2A output for use on all USB devices that plug into a female USB port. It also has a weatherproof cap to protect it from the elements when not in use. Comes complete with easy to follow illustrated installation instructions and has 4 feet of wire for plenty of room to work.

Does the 12v to 5v converter draw juice when nothing is plugged into the USB outlets?
Or, asked another way, would you need to connect this device to a 12v source that is switched on and off with the key to keep from draining the battery when the motorcycle is not being used?

That IS beautiful! Both my bikes have power outlets, but this is sooo much more useful!

@aaronp You wire it inline to a source switched on and off with the key.

Hey I only just saw this. I like that a lot. I added a switched fuseblock to a couple of my bikes, and it would be a piece of cake to wire that on. Might have to pick one of those up.

@newbonneville I just ordered this and and your instructions are terrible! I get what they mean but they don't show me where the inline wires are that I connect the + wire to. I feel like this is not going to be an easy instal. Got any advise?

Hey Aford, did you figure it out? just got mine in the mail and i'm pretty clueless too, looking at the enclosed instructions. I'm kind of a noob when working on the wiring.

Should be red wire to the positive terminal of the battery and black to the negative.
