torque wrench question
first, I did a search but couldn't locate an answer.
second, this is probably something i should know anyway but don't so i'm asking.

i have a 3/8" drive craftsmen digitiork torque wrench that i'm very happy with. the problem is some of the bolts are too small to use my 3/8" sockets. can i use a 3/8" to 1/4" adaptor without throwing off the results? i know, per my user manual, that when you use an extender you need to do some math to account for it but it doesn't mention anything about adaptors. something tells this won't work but i'd rather spend $5 on the adaptor then go out and buy a 1/4" torque wrench.

With an extender or crow's foot it changes; with a size adapter it doesn't
