Wink

Search feature is your friend...

They all do it, its mostly due to the god awful AI system....My Bonnie wears her bluing with pride.

I'm sure someone will give a better explanation, but it's not due to bad tuning. The AI system does contribute, although my AI has been disconnected since day 1 and I've got lots of blueing. Tha Americas and Speedmasters don't show it so much, because they have double-walled pipes up to the exhaust ports. I believe any chromed pipe will blue due to the exhaust heat, which is why so many aftermarket pipes are double-walled or heat-shielded.

Embrace the blueing, man - it's part of the soul that makes Triumph cooler than the others.

Now, will one of you rocket surgeons please give a better technical answer?

The only pipes that don't blue are pipes on a bike that isn't ridden!

After 6500 mi on my TBA the pipes show about 1/2" of blue. No way to speed up the blueing, **it happens.

They turn blue because they get hot and they are single-wall. Removing the AI does not eliminate this. Most of us have blue and gold pipes to a greater or lesser degree.

I had a Harley guy start telling me all the great stuff to get rid of bluing until I interrupted him with...... BUT I paid extra for that color! He walked off scratching his head
