are there any silicone gasket materials that are impervious to gasoline? i need to seal up the fuel petcock where the base meets the gas tank. another potential application would be carburetor gasket material. i have used red silicone in the past but noted that it remained "slimy" and would not maintain a seal. any suggestions?

You can get a variety of gasket materials from your local auto parts dealer.

you can get all sorts of gasket material from you local auto parts dealer, but i was curious if anyone had any experience with the silicone tube-type gasket material that was impervious to gasoline. it would be handy to seal a variety of things on older bikes, but i have not had much luck sealing gasoline applications.

I use 1/8" Neoprene on my tank petcock,
gas will not affect it, and it seals very well,
will not harden or crack.
