The great bolt race

While doing a minor mod to my Bonnie I found an obscure but important part (the bold/axel used to attach the foot brake to the frame) had been over tightened either at the factory or when set up by the dealer. The bolt threads where slightly stripped as a result of over tightening. I was able to rework the threats, but I decided to replace the part anyway.

So using Bike Bandit's on line schematic and my shop manual I identified the part #.

Because it is winter and I am bored thus was born the "great bolt race."

I ordered the same part from Bike Bandit and Baxter cycle. Both had been recommended by various people on these forums.

So what happened?

The winner of the great bolt race is....

BTW, this was my first time using either...

And the winner....

Both places told me they did not have the part and it would be ordered from Triumph.

And the winner is....

It starts with a "B"!

B....

Oh they both start with 'B" sorry...

B....

B-Baxter Cycle!

By a full week.

Bike Bandit actually had a two day head start (order placed online) I ordered the same part from Baxter Cycle by phone. Both vendors are equal distance from me. Baxter charged less for shipping -- both of the shipment had to go through the same number of "UPS Zones".

Take this info for what it worth, and no, I am not affiliated with either. I have to admit thought, I like it when the underdog wins.

I have ordered from other vendors suggested on these forums, but I have yet to pit them against each other.

Anyone else want to give it a try? Say order two of those Triumph #5565744-001's (engine block) and let us know what happens?
