Exclamation 08 Speedmaster EFI petrol pump

I would like to ask if anyone knows how the new 08 Speedmaster EFI petrol pump works? Is it possible that i can hear it working, even with the engine working? When ignition is on there is this particular sound coming from the tank for about 4 seconds than it stops. I guess its the ECU checking the pump. That's fine, but after starting the engine is it normal that it can be heard?
Thanks in advance,
Noel

Idont know about your bike but on a car you can hear it run more so when low on gas.you hear it at first cause it builds pressure

Anyone with a Sprint, Daytona or S3 will tell you that this is normal.

When you turn the key, the fuel system primes and the ECU does a self check for a second or 3. Wait for the self check to finish before trying to start the bike (so much for a fast getaway)

On my RS, in the cold weather, the fuel pump is much louder than normal for a while, but once up to temperature, it goes away.

Welcome to the electronic age.
