Check out this site ... http://www.dinqua.com/

Also, you may want to post future questions in the "Twin Talk" forum instead of "General." Some of the most knowledgeable guys on the forum can be found there.

You did not state what size your jets are in your carbs. If you are hesitating on acceleration and surging when you back off on the throttle, you are too lean. You have reduced inlet and exhaust restrictions allowing more air into the engine. The Main jets will have to be upsized. You will probably have to insert a number of shims under you 2 needles.

Check out this link. Open up the "Jetting Calculator" and fill in your engine specs. It will give you a good starting point for jet sizes. You can also open "Pat's Carb Site" for a how to guide. http://www.dinqua.com/

My guess would be 135 mains, 1 or 2 shims under the stock needles and 42 pilots. Once you start, be prepared to play around.

135s sounds about right for unifilter and drilled airbox. I had K&N, drilled airbox and 130s for awhile, then went full Freak. Check your fuel mix also. With the 07 you'll need to remove the mixture screw covers and either get the "D" tool or buy some after market mixture screws with nurled ends.
These are good. http://www.newspeedmaster.com/html/i...re_screws.html

By the way, welcome to the site!

I did a modified freak version, not the after market kit. Bumped my mains up to 155s with two K&N tapered cones, TBS needles, 2 shims, drilled slide. I had a bracket made to provide a place for the right side cover to snap to and hold the wiring under the seat. Overall it took me about 4-5 weeks during winter as I recall. I can tell there was some power increase (haven't had it dynoed). I don't think I got the big seat of the pants boost others have claimed but my speedy has never really been stock. I put T-bikes , nology coils/wires and 17T sprocket on it almost from day one. Don't know anything about brisk plugs.

I'd go with the upgrade you have for now and see how you like it. Once you freak it's a little harder to go back, especially if you've cut up the airbox.
