speed triple 2001 w/Daytona 2001 enigine

I bought 2001 Speed Triple and after the purchase I learned that the engine was replaced with 2001 Daytona 955i unit. The chip was left in place and the combo runs great. Anyway, I wonder what am I riding?
Were the mods to original Daytona 955i engine mechanical (valves, cams etc.) or were they limited to the chip settings only? Are the gears (ratios) modified?
If anyone has the knowledge of the subject - share it, please

I believe the gear ratios are the same but I'm not totally sure. All I know is the Daytona 955 has more top end about 128hp at 9,900rpm, where as the triple was set up supposely for more midrange torque then hp having only about 110hp at 9,200rpm.

Did you happen to buy this bike on E-bay, I seen a bike described like yours awhile back and it looked pretty sweet?

Thank you for this - it would be good news with the ratios. I also heard, correct or not, that the engine was tuned by software only, what would mean that after all I ride the speed triple I wanted
I bought it on the Internet auction service in Poland, called Allegro - I don't think it was on E-bay. It's as sweet as all triple speeds are - no modifications except for the carbon muffler.

The bike sounds great the way it is. No wait! It might need some other mods.

Yea, more mods. That's the answer!

I guess you are right - the more I put into the bike myself the better I know what I ride Anyway I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can enjoy it. Merry Xmas!
