Exhaust Sealant Tape... needed/helpful?

Hello Team and pardon my ignorance.

Has anyone tried exhaust sealant tape??

Is that helpful.?? Pros/Cons??

I use liquid sealant myself. Either one is needed to seal off the cans from air leaks.

I had never heard of it before you asked, it's not mentioned in my factory manual, & the only kind a quick search turns up seems to be marketed for 2-strokes. In addition, I've had my cans off several times, never used it, & never noticed a difference. I'd say it's pretty conclusively not needed.

Helpful? No idea, as I haven't used it. It might well be, I'm curious now....

I use High Temp RTV silicone whenever I remove and replace my TBR slipon. It keeps the exhaust from leaking at the joint. Haven't used the tape.
