touched the blinker/indicator wires together blew relay. replaced the relay checked the fuses and bulbs tested switch/button but still no blinkers and the temp gauge is out

If the bike works perfect bar the indicators and temp gauge, what might have happened is that due to the short you actually melted a wire / plug creating a loose or non-existing contact.
I would re-inspect the wiring.
