Advice for disc brake conversion on '69 T100?
Hello,
I'm new to this forum and Triumphs in general. I have purchased a '69 T100C chassis and motor, and will probably be removing my stock wheels/tires and looking to complete the following. I'm looking to make it into a dirt/street tracker type of bike. I'm hoping a few folks here have completed conversions on the areas below; I'm open to mild to wild changevers to get some good ideas before I start buying anything.
- Forks: Replacing/Purchasing either Betor or some other aluminum tree forks?
- Brakes: Converting from drum to disk brakes front & rear?
- Wheels: Purchasing 19" Akront or other "shouldered" wheels/hubs/kits?
From pictures on various sites I've not been been able to conclude if people are swapping parts from other bikes for forks/brakes to make it a smoother changover or what; for instance are people using Yamaha XS650 or other forks, brakes, wheels, etc? I'm not sure what fits what yet, but also open to machining and customization where it makes practicality sense.
Any experience or advice on these would be appreciated. Thanks! DC
