what makes the 12000 miles interval service so expensive. the valve set up is pretty straight forward according to the manual and there doesnt seem to be any thing that isnt done on most other bikes. what gives?

I just had one done on my Sprint ST and I feel kind of disappointed. The manual has re-grease the bearings in the steering head, rear wheel and replace the air filter, which I understand is a nightmare of a job. They did the rear bearing but only because I complained that it was loose. With a manual, time and spare parts, I could have done it all myself and now I kind of regret not doing it.

I guess the moral is: do it yourself.

Don't you just get on and ride? If it starts and runs everything is OK right? :-D

I took mine in for the first service but I have been doing the service on it ever since. It's not difficult and you can always ask questions here on the forum.
