Has anyone here painted their black side panels white to match your tank/fenders? I know with the clear coat, it might be involved. I'm thinking wet sand to remove the clear coat and rough the surface up for the new paint to be sprayed on, then stickers applied and final clearcoat.

I painted my covers.The first one, I over sanded the ultra thin clear/color coats and got down to the white plastic. Any paint I applied wouldn`t adhere equally and would craze. The other cover,I just primered right over the clear and painted it with a rattle can. Came out good. I ended up buying new covers anyway because of the one screwed up one. The decals on my 04 were not cleared. They came right off with a fingernail.They just sit in a shallow depression. Good luck.
