I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing premature tail light failure?? I have gone through several, and I don't know why. I presume since it usually is only happening when I am "playing hard", that it is a vibration issue where the bulbs filament is receiving a vibration frequency causing resonance and destroying the filament. I am on my 5th bulb and my bike is an '02.

So far in almost 8000 miles of hitting a ton almost ever time I ride (On a track of course Wink wink nudge nudge) mine have not failed once. Of course you could be ridding bumpier roads. How often do they fail? Any chance it could be an unwanted ground causing them to draw too much current? Are you sure some one did not sneek Lucas parts into your bike? (J/K)

The roads down here are a bit better than VA JH.

Would that be the 9A track?

Not so much track 9A but the Interstate Ninty Five Raceway. I travel to GA daily. It is true our "Tracks" are a little bit smoother, I guess it has something to do with that cold white stuff that falls fom the sky from time to time up there. It is a sacrafice you must make if you want some hills and decent curvesI guess. I am happy to see another local rider with good taste in motorcycles. When you get your Thrux are you going through Cycle Accessories West or are you going out of town?

No, my grounds are fine and everything else as well. Maybe it is the massive sound of the D&D's!!!! Who knows, I have had this happen on other twins as well, so it's no biggie.

JH-

Right now I am trying to work price. CAW wants $1500 more out the door for the same bike than a dealer in Chattanooga. Even after gas/food/hotel it's still $1000 cheaper. They want full sticker, and almost $600 in setup/fees.

Nice guys, would like to do business, but I can't justify $1000 out of pocket for the convenence of buying locally.

There is a thread in Twin talk on it already.

I don't think it's a twin thing- my old T140 Bonnie vibrated like a jackhammer but it never use a lot of tail bulbs.

This is probably a dumb question, but you are using 12v bulbs, not 6v ?

Not to threadjack, but as much as I like CAW I would not ride up and just hand them $1000
