The shop manual manual for my '02 Speed Triple suggests Mobil 1 as the oil of choice. For some reason Mobil 1 is hard to come by around here so I used Repsol for my last oil change. I know just enough (which isn't much) about mechanical stuff to be a danger to myself and the bike!!! Some input from people who really know what's best would be useful. Is Repsol okay or do I need to grub about and find Mobil 1? :???: :???: :???:

If it's a fully synthetic and the right viscosity it will be ok.

Do you have a WalMart near you? They even have Walmarts in China now...anyway Mobil 1 MX4 is sold by Walmart...request it if they don't stock it...they probaly have an oil filter you could use as well for cheap.

The local Wal Mart doesn't have it on the shelf, but I'll see if they can get it in. It'll probably be cheaper than from the bike store!!

The correct oil is Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w-40.

I don't know what MX4 is, but I don't believe it is the same thing at all. If it's a car oil then it should not be used.

Mobil 1 MX4 is Mobil 1 oil specifically designed or 4-stroke motorcycles. Please, let's not turn this into yet another oil thread from hell...

Ah yes...MX4T only in the US....everywhere else in the world it's Mobil 1 Racing.

Huh! That would explain why I've never seen the Mobil 1 Racing, even at a dealer!

I used the car oil for a change, then decided against it and went with Red Line 15/50.

I love oil threads. The slicker the better. No worries with M1 15/50.
