I may be showing my lack of knowledge, but...

I read that calipers such as those on a Busa will fit onto my 96 Trident. More than one person has told me they've done this.

However, according to a review I've read + specs in the EBC brake catalog, the Trident has 296mm front rotors. The Hyabusa has 320mm rotors stock.

Isn't this a problem?

I suppose you could make a 320 mm rotor fit on a bike that was originally fitted with smaller rotors. It would take some spacers and probably a fair amount of engineering to get it to work. Unless somebody has done it and can say different, I would say it is more trouble than it is worth.
