Hi,
I have a pair of 6-pot calipers to add to a 1996 Sprint that I am taking delivery of Monday evening. I would like some advice or impressions from anybody that has done a similar upgrade.
I have noticed that the Triumph upgrade package appears to include another Master cylinder. Do people fit a larger master cylinder? I only have the calipers.
I am looking forward to taking delivery of what is a well looked after Sprint. I have a 1995 Thunderbird, and pleased I am adding the Sprint, rather than trading the T-Bird up for a newer bike.
Thank you in anticipation of your help. (I have also put this post up on the Triumph Riders site).
Geoff

You need the master cylinder that has the 5/8 on the front (as opposed to 14), check the Sprint when it comes to see if you have one already.
Stainless steel lines will be a big help also.

Any 5/8" Nissin master cylinder will do, i think you will find that a Kawasaki ZX11 uses a 5/8 that will look identical to the Triumph one, and will be available at a much lower price! All you have to do is swap the top cap so you get the Triumph logo on it.

My thanks to you both for your good advice. Looks like I will be looking at Kwacka's (I must say I have a soft spot for them) - thanks Mike.
Lurch, apologies for asking this but I guess the size must be marked on the casing? I will have a close look, but if you can point me to the spot, that would be great.
The Sprint arrived tonight, and I had to have a short ride - big smiles!!!! :-D
I would like to ask another question, and it relates to my Thunderbird. I have a Beringer 4-pot to fit, and wondered whether the 'old' Sprint master cylinder could be used? I found this information in an old post:
T-Bird 11mm; T-Bird Sport 12.7mm; Tiger Trophy Trident Sprint (&
Sprint ST) 14mm (9/16"); Super 3 15.8 (5/8").
My question concerns the power of a 14mm bore - would this be too much for the feel with a 4-pot Beringer do you think (there are no adjusters on the existing T-Bird lever)?
Thanks for all your help and knowledge.
Geoff
