Heres a curious one. I decided to check valve clearances. 2 on the inlet side were out of tolerance and shims need replacing.
Borrowed tool 3880011 from my local dealer which allows the tappet to be locked in position when cam is rotated. This is correct tool according to the ws manual and has correct number etched on it. But it just does not fit/work at all. Looks to be for a completely different engine.
Anyone come across this before? I've pondered it for an hour trying it every which way and thinking 'it must be me' and what am I doing wrong - but I cant see it!! :???: I'm going to ask dealer later on today - but thought I'd ask here first...

As a follow up - the dealer now uses a tool that attaches to the cam cover fixing points as per other posts. Looks like the one they've lent me is a very early type. Plus I'm convinced its the wrong one - even though part numbers match up.
