Hi all. I just bought my first triumph, a 1966 T120TT chopper. The engine runs great but its going to need a good bit of work to get the thing on the road again. I was hoping you all could help me out since I don't know much (yet). Here is a quick site with some pics. Click Here.
First of all, the bike did have a mity max setup but all the wires have been cut and I have no key to turn the unit back on even if they weren't cut. I would like to buy a replacement but I can't find any model numbers on the unit. Does anyone know what version of the mity max I need to restore the no-battery setup? Is there anything special about this engine that I need to be aware of when rewiring it? Thanks in advance for all your help

I'm not sure on the Mity Max wiring, but I do like your bike. Are you planning on doing any customization yourself? Looks like a real good cleaning and shining is in store for it. Just got mine up and running, and it's a head turner. Yours is sure to draw some attention. Have fun! Kyle

Thanks Kyle,

Yeah I have some things planned for it, I figure while I have it apart I might as well lower the rear fender, install a jockey shift, make a new sissy bar, redo the seat in hand tooled leather (my dad owns a seat business), and possibly make a new coffin style tank (if I don't like how the old one turns out). And, obviously I have a lot of pollishing, rechroming and repainting to do. And I'm sure I'll find some other things to customize along the way

Right now I just want to get the thing moving so I can be confident the motor, tranny, and electricals are all in order before I start hacking at it.

What have you done to yours? Got any pics?
Sean

I got mine from my dad, who hasn't ridden it in 21 years. I have pics in my photo album on here. It has 8 over forks, funky bars, hex oil tank, king and queen seat, sissy bar, and lights and such. I'm going to get the tank repainted at the end of the month, since it's all chipped and boring looking. I'm looking for a bolt on rigid rear end for it, but haven't found one yet. I noticed in the Iron Horse from 1982 I was looking through yesterday that a company had them for $75. I hope they're still running. My album is at the bottom. KyleAlbum
