Hi, all.

When I bought my first bike years ago, there was a gizmo called a cable lube fixture that you put on the end of the cables (throttle, clutch, brake) to help spray cable lube down the cable.

I tried to buy a cable lube fixture at my dealer. The person at the parts counter looked at me like I was crazy. Seems he never heard of it. Instead, they recommended using liquid graphite.

Just curious what folks are using/current procedures to lubricate cables.

Thanks in advance....Jerry

I have not had much call to use it but I purchased a cable lube fixture (Basicly a block of metal with a rubber boot inside and two knurled knobs to clamp it down, with an opening for the cable end and one for a spray nozzle). This Post may not be a whole lot of help, But I can at least confirm they still are manufactured :>

Yup, my local Honda dealer sells them. I noticed that my can of chain wax describes itself as chain and cable lube too.

I disconnect the cable at the high end and pour in liquid graphite while jiggling the cable up and down.

Get the liquid graphite from your local locksmith.
