Hi all. After years with no bike, finally, a real ride - a 2001 Bonny. (yes, I'm middle aged and bald...) I'm wondering about the breaking in routine, especially which oil to use. And, does anyone have opinions on the centerstand - like, does it drag on corners, or is it essential, or what? Thanks! -ed

I recommend using the Triumph "running in oil" for the first 500 or 1000 miles, then switching over to fully synthetic oil. As far as the centerstand goes, by all means get one. I don't have a bonneville, but I am guessing the centerstand is like that of the TBS- it will not drag in corners (the foot pegs will drag first) and makes chain maintenance and oil changes a breeze. Congrats,

Matt

Thanks for the info on the stand, Matt; my older bikes always had one, and it's strange to be without. The "running-in" oil must be non-synth, then. (As you can tell, my dealer is _not_ nearby, and I have a bit of learned mistrust on the whole dealer issue)

Happy motoring! -ed
