Hey everyone, I am working on a friend's scoot but do not have the manual for it just yet. I was wondering if anyone knew how much oil should be in the tranny? It is a bit over half way full right now and it is blowing oil out of the breather tube... any help would be appriciated.

Regards,
Ezra

It depends on what year the bike is, but as you mention oil coming out of the breathertube my guess is that this is a post 70 model? The manual states 150cc (0,15 liter) initial fill for these engines, but as this is a self maintaned system it will more often than not contain a bit less than that. If your primary case is half full, is that because you have overfilled it? If not have you checked if your oil tank has drained down into the engine? In that case you migth have an oil pump problem. I strongly advice you to get a workshop manual, I've worked on these engines for 30 years and still use them. Cheers, tri-man
