my battery went south , and i guess my check engine light came on,, will it clear if the low voltage is no longer present , or do i need to have it cleared . i have heard that after a few heat cyles that if the problem no longer exists the ecm will reset the code, . :???:

You need to run through 3 heat cycles to reset it. Start it up, run until hot, let cool X 3, and the light should go out if there is no error code present.

The code is now stored, not cleared. They have to be cleared manually.

You can clear it with a tueboy, or the dealer gameboy.
