Hey all,
I have been looking for a couple of 10-1.25X150mm stainless allen socket head cap screws. I cannot find them anywhere here in the U.S. Anybody know a source that would ship to the U.S. and wouldn't charge a fortune for two bolts? Please PM me too if you know a source.

Thanks

I checked my usual supplier, they only go up to 100mm.

Why not use some threaded stud and cut to size?

the problem in the US is finding 10x1.25 its not the standard for an M10 bolt here, as it is in Japan and (I believe) the UK. It is more commonly known as a metric fine here. I too tried to source some of these and drew a blank - all I could get was regualr hex head cap screws in steel with a plated finish.

The fine pitch seems to be only common on vehicles. Most other applications use a 1.5 pitch.

Its just the Japanese standard then. I believe Triumph use this so that they are compatible wiht the parts sourced from Japan / the far east

They will go on my LSL frame sliders (German I think). The ones they (LSL) supplied are too short but they will not get me some that are longer. The ones supplied only have about 7-8 mm of the threads engaged into the mounting block while the block is at least 25 mm thick. A guy on the Sprint forum had his break off during a slow low side. I checked mine and it appears they are too short.

If they is rumor of these breaking I would use plated steel instead of stainless it is much stronger.

Mick,
The problem was the bolt stripping out the mounting pad. It doesn't look right the way it is. Why have a mounting pad that is 25 mm thick but only 7-8 mm of bolt penetration? It makes no sense. I also thought about re-tapping the mounting pad with a 10-1.5 tap??

I think you are probably right on the length issue John. I was musing on the fact that a plated 150mm one may be better still.

Unfortuantely the online catalogs I use don't list 10x1.25 socket head in plated, just plain steel.

I would not attempt to re-tap without changing size or having an insert fitted.

These guys might be worth a call:

Their online catalog shows 10-1.25x150 but does not say about the material.
