I am getting the oil pressure warning light coming on once the bike has warmed up. higher rpm seems to trigger it, the light does not come on fully but is much dimmer than at startup (ignition on, bike not running). Oil level is fine, bike has 4700 miles on it and break-in oil was changed out at 500 for Mobil 1 4T, it just started happening Friday night, no problems before that. Only thing different is I have not rode much over past 2 weeks due to a rear flat and working a lot of hours.

I am guessing that any fix would be under warranty but am loathe to have it sitting in the shop right now, riding weather is too good, so would like to troubleshoot myself.

Anyone had the same or similar problem?

Any input much appreciated.

Hi ,

I had this problem on my old bike a Yamaha thundercat , finally traced it to a loose wire going to the oil sensor .

I am inclined to think you are right, oil level is good. I had the console nd sprocket for chain clean and lube and a coat of wax on the tank.

Next question ....... where's the oil sensor, I see it on the wiring diagram, but where is it on the bike? :???:
