my bonnie is a mere 2 days old and she won't start. fuel is leaking into the air filter when the petcock valve is set to run. there seems to be plenty of spark hitting the cylinders but no fuel, as it all is dripping out of the air intake behind the left side cover.

man, here i go with the dealer already. any ideas, fellas?

Dang, I'm sorry to hear that, what a drag !
I forget if the bike is carburetted ?
If it is, I wonder if it's a stuck float valve. If it were that, I'd guess that pulling the spark plug would show that the cylinder has excess gas too (making it too rich to start, but then it should still be firing on one cylinder, huh ?)..

Probably a stuck float valve.....or incorrectly installed.

You could fix it yourself, but it should go back to the dealer....they need to know about that type of stuff. Plus you should get a new air-filter under warranty.

well, just got her back from the dealership. they tell me (just as they surmised over the phone) that i had a pinched breather tube and they needed to reroute it. seems to me that this would cause the fuel to NOT flow, and as you know, i had fuel all over the floor of my garage.

perhaps i just don't understand the mechanics of it all here but she is nevertheless running incredibly well now. tomorrow i'll put some serious miles of her and get a real feel for the permanence of the solution.

If your floats were stuck and leaking that much gas, be sure to check your oil for contamination. My Adventure had that problem and thew oil was contaminated.

good call. i am actually about 40 miles from my 500 mile break-in servicing where i believe they change the oil, so any contaminants should get drained.
i am sure glad to be past that little setback and back on the road. she is running like a champ now and i just can't stop riding her. what a great little bike.
