Posted this issue under Cafe section.
My 2005 thrux, cranks over, all plugs OK and power to the coils.
No spark = no go. Was intermittant, now permenant.
As I have'nt the Hayne manual yet, can any one give me specs, ie resistances of coils, across crank sensor etc and how you check these things.
Although only 4 months old, the triumph dealer is a long haul away so I want to try and get to the problem first.
Cheers.

New bike! I vote low battery!

Coil resistance on my Triple spec'd to 0.7-0.9 ohms, read across two pin terminals. Your Thrux not sure. I'd check battery, maybe charged enough to turn starter, but not enough to fire ignition.

I was working with a BMW (auto) mech from Germany. BMW gave him a new RT to tour around here on. He could not even start it (stand down and in gear)! He was stuck for an hour like that on the road!!! Faulty kickstand/ neutral safety switch?

Hope this helps!

put your meter on dc volts across the coil input terminals and crank the bike over. The voltage should rise and fall or pulse up and down. If it doesnt the firing sensor is bad. If it does the coil is bad. By the way an anolog meter will be easier to see the pulse...

My TBS had this problem recently. I found one of the two wires that run from the ignition sensor into the wiring harness was broken at the connector.
