Hello Hinckley Vets,
I am hoping some of you have had unfortunately a similar mechanical problem & may have some insight..
I'm trying to figure what is causing my '01 ST to burn so much petro.. (15-20 mpg). So fouled that it can not idle or run 'off throttle'. In addition to several re-mapping attempts we have also serviced the valves (20k miles). The computer appears to revert the fuel-map back to running very rich after three heat-cycles. The 'stepper motor' was cleaned of the tremendous carbon build-up and re-installed. I have not noticed any exhaust leaks..
I am currently waiting to get the ST back in the shop for another engine (compu) analyzes. I wonder if the Stepper-motor is faulty or perhaps there is a malfunction with the air bleed valve in the exhaust..
Any mechanical history out there?? Thanks in advance for your helpful replies!
