I ride my RS pretty aggressively (lots of hard braking, quick turns), and with 2100 miles on it, my front tire is cupping. My dealer suggested I might try the new Pilot Road because the tread pattern is less likely to distort and cup. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.

Kurt

My front tire always cups. I think it is because I don't get on the throttle early enough in corners, wearing it more than the rear, by far. Most bikes go through two rears for every front. Mine is exactly the opposite. So far, every kind of tire I have tried does the same thing.

A track day is the only cure I can think of. I just can't seem to convince the bank account that it is important...

Will, I have the same prob. as you on my BT 020. Dealer told me to raise my tire pressure, make's sense ? Haven't been able to test cause it's cold & snowy. Thinking of rep. with BT012's may be Pirreli's. Any sugestions? PS does this style make us any less of a rider. :-g

I have a 99 ST with 56,000 miles on her and had B'stones(57, 010, and 020) on until about 9 months ago when I got a great deal on Pilot Roads. I just changed out the Roads with about 9,000 miles on 'em and no cupping on the front. Every 'Stone tire I had on the front cupped. With i-net prices, I won't go back to B'stones, I'll stay with Mich. or possibly Avon( heard good thingd about them).

I am currently running the Pilot Roads on my 1200 Daytona, and while they are excellent tires, after a weekend at/around Deal's Gap, they are mildly cupped. In all my time riding bikes, I've never seen a tire that would dure a cupping issue. However, if you have your forks revalved, you will probably see a marked improvement.

I'll be sending mine to Kent the Computrak/Race Tech guy in Atlanta within the next week or two for a revalve and differnet springs.
