I'd like to upgrade the factory forks on my 2004 Sprint RS with Race Tech Gold Valves and springs. Exactly what Race Tech products/models/sizes do I need?
There are 4 different kinds of
Gold Valves listed on their website, and many more
Fork Springs. So which one for my bike?!
Unfortunately, their website
www.racetech.com does not provide any guidance for my bike, and the Race Tech technician I spoke to told me that they do not have my bike spec'd out. He advised me to do one of the following:
1. Send them the forks and have them do the work (takes 2 weeks - too long for me)
2. Disassemble the forks and then call Race Tech to give them the measurements, so that they can spec it out.
Since I want a local dealer to do the work, I'd prefer to have some concrete numbers/models in my hand before I take it to the shop. I don't want to be a guinea-pig and have unsuitable product and/or wrong setting installed in the forks. I don't have time to mess around with trial and error to arrive at the right setting.
Anyone who has done this mod on this specific bike? All competent advice greatly appreciated! Thanks.
