It's a long shot, but... Anybody know if a Tiger 900 top clamp will fit a '96 Trident? I'm still trying to find a way to get standard 7/8" bars on my bike without breaking the budget...

Cheers,
-Kit

Hi, Kit-

Keep watch in the Classifieds here & on eBay for a Storz top clamp. The clamp's been out of production for several years, but allows you to bolt to existing holes in your triple clamp. I also found an older K&N SuperBar in black- looks great on my '98 Trident and really helped my back!

Thanks, Smaug. I've been keeping an eye out for the Storz (which sold for a reasonable price to begin with) or any of the others. (Spiegler/LSL, Sprint Manufacturing, etc., all more expensive than new forged bars from Triumph.) I finally broke down & bought NOS Triumph parts off eBay for a little less than the price of new. Now, I just need some proximity-fused Claymore mines to keep the cages from knocking her over & bending the new bars.

Cheers,
-Kit

Kit, I was looking into this myself. I understand that there were two different top triple trees on the Tigers. The old one for the carbureted 885 Tiger looks to be the same as the one on my Sprint. The one from the injected 885's and 955's is the one you'll want to try.
I have one of the newer ones on the way. I don't know for sure if it'll fit but I figured I'd give it a try. It probably won't be here for another week or so, but I'll let you know how it works.

Now you tell me!

Seriously, though, I'm very curious to hear your results. I would have thought the carb tiger piece would be the one to fit, 'cause it looks like ours with the addition of clamps for bars. Do let me know, I'm all ears...

Cheers,
-Kit
