Does anyone know how I can wire my turning signles so they are on when the bike is running? It just looks better and I will be more visable.

How about wireing the headlight so I can turn it off when starting the bike. It is a big drain on the electrical system.

OK,

in order to make your turn signals into running lights, you first need dual filament sockets and bulbs in the turn signals. Check to see what you have first. You can wire the front signals to the headlights, and the rears to the tail light.

A less messy solution might be a convertor box, I think sold by Kisan Technologies. This is a common mod on touring bikes, so you might check Goldwing or BMW accessory sites.

Also, are you sure your headlight is actually on during ing? Most of the Triumph models have headlight cutout relays that shut the headlight while starting in order to put less drain on the battery.

The Kisan Signal Minder has that option, to have running lights. It also turns your blinker off after 14 or so blinks, so you don't ride for miles with them on.

How about just fitting a light switch, so you can turn the lights on or off at your own discretion ( or are headlights-on compulsory in the US?).

A right hand switch from a UK spec bike would give you a 3 position light switch.

Individulal states regulate and legislate their own motorcycle laws. I think I am correct in saying that full time 0n-headlights is mandatory in all 50 states. For sure, it is the law here in Minnesota.

I am sure it is the law every where. I just want the option to discomnect when starting the bike and when the bike is just warming up.

I will alway have it on when riding.

you can simply interrupt the ground wire to the headlights and wire it to a heavy duty switch.

Don't use the power wire, because all the voltage will coursing through the switch at all times.
