Not with the trophy but have you check with Ohlins I highly recommend their stabilizers and use them on all my bikes....exept the Vincent.

flatspins -

The problem with the Trophy is that the gas tank shape gets in the way to use the Scott steering head model.

I then spoke with Ohlins. They said that the universal model would work if I could connect between the fork and frame somewhere. The fairing may or may not be an issue.

I left it at that.

Can you tell me which one you use, perhaps on the Daytona?

Does it accommodate the steering head type or universal type mounted frame to fork?

If you have used the universal behind the faring then there may be hopefor mine.

Thanks for you time!
Walt

Hi,

I know that Toby use to do a steering damper for the T300 models (I have one). The fixing is by an adapter across the top of two of the cam cover bolts, and a normal fixing on a fork leg. I think the damper and fork fixing are universal, and others have commented that cam cover adapters were produced by several companies for the "Speed Triple Challenge" race series bikes.

Toby don't appear to show the kit on their site any longer (www.toby.be), but you could send them an email. [Fyi, Lockhart Phillips are their US importers].

I must ask why you want a steering damper, as these Triumphs do not normally suffer from 'head shake', and you may have a more fundamental problem?

Ciao,
Geoff

Here is the Sprint kit on a T300 Speed Triple:

The Toby set-up is just the same, but the adapter on the cam cover is not as substantial looking (shaped steel plate).

I see two constraints I need to be concerned with besides the normal steering stop angle to choose the correct cylinder travel (stroke) and adjustment range.
We have been hovering about these in our conversation:

1. mount point .
2. fairing clearance.

Anything else I am not seeing?
