Hey Guys,
I am sure this has been asked and answered here but.....just to be on the safe side. My skills are weak.
If I remove the bolts next to the spark plugs and put in size m12x125 bolts (Nissan oil pan plugs) with crush washers what do I do next?
Each side and each bolt as it presently sits has a hose running out the top of it to a part up under the gas tank. Do I take the hose off and plug up what the hose fitted onto?
I have Staintune exhausts so I am assuming that a carb rejet is not needed with this AI removal.
I was hoping to put this off until Spring but in the mountains of NC when you get weather above 50 degrees your bike cranks automatically!!

You could just leave it all, but I wouldn't plug it. I removed all the plumbing from under the tank. You'll need a vacuum cap to plug the nipple on the right intake manifiold at the cylinder side and a hole plug and some silicone seal to plug the hole in the top of the airbox on the left-side (under the side cover).

Rip all that ***** outta there and save a couple of pounds!

Take off your tank and you will see that all the hoses are easily removed. When I was done I had the whole system in hand in one piece with hoses going this way and that. Just plug the holes that are left like Cyn said and you're done. Also as Cyn said, you may want to use a bit of sticky stuff to hold the plug in the top of the airbox. I seem to remember someone describing their airbox plug popping out when the bike backfired. Good Luck.

for the hole thats left in the airbox from the big hose on the AI, i used a rubber cork sealed in with silicone. I cut the plug very short otherwise it bottoms out and doesn't hold well because it can't go in far enough to sqeeze tightly against the edges of the hole. rubber corks can be found in various sizes at many hardware stores. Tried one of those plastic hole covers but it wouldn't hold because the edges of the hole taper down so theres no way for the little clips on the plug to grab.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the info...(I love this site) I am gonna try it this weekend. I've been able to find most everything I need at the auto parts store but the rubber plug. I live in a small town in the mountains of NC, great for riding but the Walmart put the real hardware store out of business so it's hard to find some stuff. I gotta do this soon, I may have already 'gone too blue' on the pipes!!
