HI all. Can someone please help. The speedo on my s4 keeps switching on and off as well as showing the wrong speed, as well asthe temp reading. This problem started overnight I thought it might be the battery as the starter motor seemed to strugle to get going how ever the problem persists even at high revs when going. The garage said it could be the ecu has anyone else had this problem?

My speedo went off completely once. It came back when I jiggled the connection to the sender on the front wheel - must have been a loose connection. Been OK ever since.

It sounds like a bad connection somewhere. If your front wheel has been off, and the speedometer cable was reinstalled without due care, that can damage the sender inside the hub. It will cause very odd speedometer behavior. Since you are getting odd temperature behavior, too, it is more likeley that you have a problem in another connector somewhere. You don't have a whole lot of plastic to remove to check it out, so that is the good part! The bad part is that you will probably have to trace all the connectors that attach in any way to your instrument cluster. Make sure the grounds are all connected properly- bad grounding will cause all kinds of bad behavior.

Hope this helps.
