What equipment is necessary to download the failure codes on an '02 955? my check motor(top light in tach) came on the other morning and now the ##$%@ thing won't start at all only pops. I guess I can't complain to much since in 17000 miles this is the first failure. after searching a bit it appears there is a thingy called a "Tuneboy" that will do what I want it is about 300 bucks has anyone heard of this item? is it a quality unit? at 300 bucks it should pay me back in one use. :???:

The tuneboy works great, but you need a lab top with windows 98 to run it. Well worth the money if you want to do your own maintenance. I dont have one as of yet, but one of the other Triumph riders in the area has one and we used it on my bike. Real time data, trouble codes, and tune-ability if you purchase the unlock key for your bike from tuneboy for about 100 bucks. So 400$ or so gets you the whole deal, that would not be too long at the dealer before you spent the same money. Hope this helps.

The Tune Boy starter kit is $310.00. That includes the cable, software and one (1) CPU unlock key(Tune Edit) so you can edit one motorcycle. Extra keys are $100 at time of purchase and $150 after time of initial purchase. You can also get just the Tune Boy alone without a Tune Edit key for $180.00. So if you know someone with the Tune Boy setup they can run a diagnostic (only) on your bike with his setup.
