I don't know why Triumph decided to make it such a chore to remove the seat on late model T-Birds. From some of the posts, I get the impression the Legends are the same.

What are your views on the best mods to these pesky bolts, so that the seat can quickly be dealt with (and the blood pressure remain at a reasonable level)?!

This has been a chore from day one of the Legend.

I complained bitterly over this problem on my pre-production Legend.

The system is worthy of an average backyard special What happened. Well not only did they do nothing, they converted the T'bird to the same system

Rant over. If you have looked at the posts in the Legend forum you will have seen posts about Erlings seat bolts. These are the ones to have. Erling posts under the handle a10gf.

Speak nicely to him & he may make you a set :-D

Take a look at http://www.skykingracing.com/skyking...ts/item_003_1/

I fitted these and it makes life a little easier, but not hugely, especially when you have the grab handle fitted. I'm currently looking at converting the bike to a 97 seat, it's gonna be a pain, but will be worth it in the end. IMHO the 2000 bolt on seat looks far too wide as well.

I have tried the Skyking solution. As you say it is really not compatible if you have a rack fitted. Erlings solution is the cheapest & easiest. I thought of trying to retro fit an earlier locking mechanism, but found Erling's thumbwheels a very smart fix. Take a look at his website.

He is in Norway & if you ask him nicely, he may do a set for you. He has done sets for a few folk in this community!

Erling goes under the handle a10gf. Maybe drop him a PM?
