Is there an evaporative loss system/A I/ Pair system/whatever you want to call it on the '05 Speed Triple? Some of the hoses look quite similar to the ones (called a Pair) on my RC 51. I removed all of it on that bike (a common mod), losing a few pounds, cleaning up the engine, and completely eliminating the popping on decelleration; and installed block-off plates from Kyle Racing. I've read about doing this on the Bonneville but haven't come across anything on the S3. My dealer says Triumph won't sell shop manuals to laypeople (at least not yet) so I don't know much about the mechanics of this bike. If someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I'm still looking for block-off plates. I now have a shop manual and the procedure looks identical to what I did on my RC; just need a source for the plates. Anyone?

I'm not even sure that the S3 has a secondary system, doesn't it have an O2 sensor? I know there is a difference between CA bikes and the rest of the US on emmissions, is that what you see in the manual? I wondered the same for my '03 S3. I would also be concerned about tripping up the ECU after making such a mod without a remap. I would wait for a tuneboy to come out for the 1050 this might be able to address the issue. Your dealer is full of it when they say they won't sell shop manuals to lay people. The manual was for sale a month or so after they introduced the 1050.

Only California bikes have an EVLS. you need to be careful about doing anything that could impact the mapping. Service manuals for the new S3 are readily available. If your dealer is having problems, you can order one from mine:

I didn't think about the O2 sensor :???: . I'm guessing it would read false rich without the "clean air" being injected into the exhaust and would lean out the mixture. Guess I'll leave it alone. Thanks for the replies. By the way, I've had a shop manual for a while, my original message was from August.
