It may be a stupid question but here goes.......

I see all kinds of bike stands, but those designed for a single side swing arm passes through the hollow spindle.
Doesn't that create excessive torque (twisting) loads on the swing arm and frame mounts?
Could a person sitting on the bike while supported this way cause damage?

I don't know so I'm asking.

No such thing as a stupid question, but I've never heard of any bike have an engineering/physics problem with side stands. Seems that piece is engineered just fine.

I've got to think that a fully loaded (two-up plus luggage) bike would tax (torque) a single side swing-arm much more severely than an unladen bike resting on a single side swing-arm stand.

I don't sit on my bike while on the stand. However my concern tends more to the strength of the stand than to the strength of the swing-arm.
