Have an autocom system on my 2002 Sprint ST and the rider to pillion works fine. However for touring have installed a Garmin Quest GPS with voice commands on an official Garmin motorcycle mount which gives power and a headset connection. Problem is that with the bike running then I get a constant whining which increases with revs. I have tried it on remote power and there is no interference. I believe that it is the alternator that needs supression. However having spoken to the local triumph dealer they did not want to know as it wasn't official Triumph fitment! Can anyone tell me how to fit suppression to the alternator??

Thanks

Not much in the way of ideas mate - sorry - but have you tried contacting Autocom or Garmin to see if they have any suggestions?

Do you get the same interference when you plug in a different type of audio source, like music? If it doesn't interfere in that scenario, then I would focus on cleaning up the power supply to the Garmin. Otherwise clean the power supply to the autocom.

I realise 'clean' sounds rather vague but I can't remember what precise electronic widget I mean - is it a condensor?

Yes have e-mailed Garmin and Autocom as well waiting for a reply. I know what you mean by cleaning up but just don't want to mess up the electrics! Will post when get solution
