I was wondering how effective you folks think the Triumph alarm system is. I'm thinking about putting a deposit down on a Speed Four, and was hoping for input on whether this is worth the cost. What does it do, exactly?

Any help would be appreciated. :???:

I have the Triumph alarm (Datatool System3) which cost me £300. Functions are nudge/movement detector, ignition tamper, ignition circuit and battery circuit alarm, sleep/low battery mode, service/valet mode, override facility and siren tone options. Found it to be very effective. Also i think it is fitted directly to the electrical system/main fuse box which if fitted by others than Triumph, it wouldn't be.

My Trophy also came with a Datatool System 3 alarm fitted, in my opinion it's a cracking piece of kit and I wouldn't like to be without it.
Anyone know how these alarms can be totally disabled ? not that I need to at the moment but it would be good to know how.

Yes, I also want to know if it's easily disabled. I hope it's not just a matter of disrupting the circuit by cutting the power to the headlights or some such ...

I don't know about disabling it totally, but you can stop it arming automatically by earthing one of the extra wires that come out of it. I think its the yellow one on mine.
