HELP - Recently fitted boyer brandsen, problems with ignition timing (would only start when set at TDC), when it finally started it ran for a while then coughed and died.
I'm getting sparks (can't tell how strong though), battery is fully charged, all electrical connections seem fine, fuel getting thru - any ideas anyone?

Instructions used to be wrong once:

They stated something like "Find TDC then advance to next timing mark"

I used to reverse to last timing mark and set it.

This is probably not the case in this instance, but ????
